Spicy Fish (Samkeh Harra)

Recipes Ingredients

  • 1 3-4 lb cleaned whole fish (Seas bass, mullet, grouper, snapper or cod) (Or fish fillets)
  • 4 tbsp Sultan Brand Olive Oil
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp Ziyad Brand Samkeh Harra Spice Blend
  • Salt and pepper (To taste)
  • 1 cup Cilantro from a small bunch Remove stems and roughly chop leaves
  • 2 Chili's (Or jalapeños)
  • 2 Large lemons

Process

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F or grill. Pat fish dry with a paper towel, place on a greased and lined baking dish.

Step 2

Brush fish with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, season with Ziyad Brand Samkeh Harra Spice Blend and rub to coat the inside and outside of the fish.

Step 3

In a food processor or with a mortar and pestle, add the jalapeños, fresh cilantro and garlic and pulse until combined. Add a juice of one lemon and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix to combine, season with salt and black pepper.

Step 4

Stuff the cavity of the fish with this herb mixture. Bake for 25-35 minutes or until fish is cooked through. Serve with extra herbs and lemon wedges.
