Freekeh Meatballs

Recipes Ingredients

  • 2 cups Ziyad Brand Freekeh Cooked
  • 1 Onion (Grated)
  • 2 Garlic cloves (Minced)
  • 1 lb Lean ground beef (Or turkey)
  • ⅓ cup Parsley (Finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (Grated )
  • 1 tsp Ziyad Brand Seven Spice
  • 2 tbsp Sultan Olive Oil
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper (To taste)
  • 1 24 oz jar of marinara or tomato sauce


Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F. In a large bowl, mix all meatball ingredients together using your hands.

Step 2

Using an ice cream scooper, portion out the meat mixture and gently roll between your hands to form a ball. Assemble the meatballs on a baking sheet.

Step 3

Drizzle the meatballs with olive oil. Bake at 400°F for 25-30 minutes unntil they are browned a bit.

Step 4

Add your marinara sauce to a pan and heat through for 5 minutes. Add The meatballs and cook for a few more minutes together. The meatballs are done when they reach 165°F in the center on an instant read thermometer. Serve with Ziyad Brand pasta, rice or a salad.
