Freekeh Breakfast Bowl

Recipes Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ziyad Brand Cracked Freekeh
  • 2 ¼ cups Milk of your choice
  • 1 tbsp Honey (Or any sweetener of your choice)
  • 1 tsp Ziyad Brand Cinnamon
  • A pinky of salt


Step 1

Rinse your freekeh well and pick any impurities. Soak your freekeh for 15-30 minutes to soften.

Step 2

In a medium pot, add freekeh, milk, honey, cinnamon and salt. Stir and bring to a gentle boil. Cover and cook over low heat for 30-35 minutes, stirring often until freekeh is cooked and tender.

Step 3

Tip: If freekeh isn’t cooked through and milk evaporated, add more milk and cook a little longer. Serve in individual bowls. Top with your choice of chopped fruits and nuts.
