Spiced Rice with Liyye

Recipes Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup Sultan Olive Oil
  • 7 oz Minced beef or lamb
  • Pinch of Ziyad Brand Liyye Seasoning
  • Pinch of Ziyad Brand Allspice
  • Pinch of Ziyad Brand Nutmeg powder
  • Pinch of Ziyad Brand Seven Spices
  • Pinch of Ziyad Brand Cinnamon
  • Salt
  • 2 cups Long grain rice (Soaked for 15 minutes and drained)
  • 2 Pieces of bay leaves
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 0.70 oz Raisins
  • 0.35 oz Mixed nuts


Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the meat.

Step 2

Season with Liyye Seasoning, salt and all the spices. Cook and stir continuously until the meat is cooked over high heat.

Step 3

Add the soaked rice over the meat. Add the bay leaves.

Step 4

Pour the beef broth over the rice. Add the raisins.

Step 5

Let it boil then lower the heat, cover and cook for 20 minutes. Take off the heat.

Step 6

Serve the rice in a plate. Garnish with raisins and mixed nuts.
