Classic Hummus with Tahini from Scratch

Recipes Ingredients

  • 29 oz big can Ziyad Brand Chickpeas Reserve some aquafaba (liquid from chickpea can)
  • ⅔ cup Ziyad Brand Tahini
  • juice of two lemons (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (adjust to taste)
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp Ziyad Brand Cumin
  • ¼ tsp Ziyad Brand Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Sultan Brand Extra Virgin Olive Oil


Step 1

Drain the can of chickpeas and reserve some of the liquid.

Step 2

Add ingredients to a food processor or high speed blender, blend for a few minutes until hummus is smooth and creamy.

Step 3

If it’s too thick, you may add a tbsp of the reserved liquid, 1 tbsp at a time to achieve the desired consistency.

Step 4

Taste for seasoning.

Step 5

To serve: Spread hummus on a plate with a spoon, sprinkle a bit of cumin and paprika and a generous drizzle of olive oil.
